Rick Brandt

Rick Brandt resides in Little Silver and is dedicated to his community. He was born and raised in Little Silver having graduated from Point Road School, Markham Place School and Red Bank Regional High School. His passion to serve is evident.

Rick enjoys organizing events and bringing people together for a fun time – and a good cause. Every year on Black Friday he coordinates “The Rivalry Series”. It is a charity football tournament for men, women and kids directly benefiting Lunch Break in Red Bank.  In 2016, Rick became a Board of Trustee at Lunch Break and is helping them daily with their community goal to bring ‘Help For Today and Hope For Tomorrow’.

In 2015, Rick Brandt created the Little Silver Charitable Foundation with six other Little Silver residents which is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization dedicated to organizing community events and programs including “Little Silver Day” and “A Taste of Little Silver”. These events include uniting the 6,000-person town together for a fun day filled with local food, music and entertainment, capped off by an incredible fireworks display and feature nearly 100 Little Silver businesses and organizations.  This foundation also provides Little Silver children with college scholarships and donates money to countless Little Silver organizations.

In 2013, as a Two River Little League Board of Director, Rick Brandt helped found the Two River Little League baseball and softball charter that now provides organized leagues for boys and girls in Little Silver, Shrewsbury, Red Bank, Fair Haven and Rumson. He has been umpiring youth baseball games in the community since 2001 and says that officiating and training new umpires are his favorite passions. In addition to umpiring, Rick enjoys refereeing youth basketball and football games, while also coaching youth soccer teams in the community.

Rick has volunteered for the Little Silver PTO, Education Foundation, Environmental Commission, Business & Professional Association and the Parker Homestead Committee. He worked closely with the Little Silver Public Library,  Traffic & Safety Committee, Department of Public Works, Board of Health, Police Department and its Emergency Medical Services to make the Little Silver community a better place.  He is a volunteer member of the Little Silver Fire Department, Recreation Committee, Shade Tree Commission and Garden Club.  Rick also volunteers for the Little Silver Fire Police, the Salvation Army and the Monmouth County Historical Association.

Rick is a giving man who enjoys serving his community which is the reason he is helping us with our mission to further unite it by becoming Open Heart Yoga’s Treasurer.  He is a community asset and we are grateful he is joining the OHY family.
