Rick Brandt is a 30-year-old man who lives in Little Silver and is dedicated to the community. He was born and raised in Little Silver having graduated from Point Road School, Markham Place School and Red Bank Regional High School. He is really passionate about serving others.
Rick enjoys organizing events and bringing people together for a fun time – and a good cause. Every year he cooridnates “The Rivalry Series” that takes place on Black Friday every year which is a charity football tournament for men, women and kids that directly benefits Lunch Break in Red Bank. In 2016, Rick became a Board of Trustee at Lunch Break and is helping them on a daily basis with their goal to bring ‘Help For Today and Hope For Tomorrow’ to community members in need.
In 2013, as a Two River Little League Board of Director, Rick Brandt helped found the Two River Little League baseball and softball charter that now provides organized leagues for boys and girls in Little Silver, Shrewsbury, Red Bank, Fair Haven and Rumson. Rick Brandt has been umpiring youth baseball games in the community since 2001 and says that officiating and teaching new umpires how to officiate are his favorite passions. Amongst umpiring, Rick enjoys referring youth basketball and football games, while also coaching youth soccer teams in the community.
In 2015, Rick Brandt created the Little Silver Charitable Foundation with six other Little Silver residents which is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization dedicated to organizing community events and supporting Little Silver programs. This foundation organizes the “Little Silver Day” community event which has brought the entire 6,000-person town together for a fun day of celebration filled with local food, music and entrainment that is capped off by an incredible fireworks display. Under Rick’s leadership, this foundation has also organized “A Taste of Little Silver” food festival which features nearly 100 Little Silver businesses and organizations. This foundation has provided Little Silver children with college scholarships and donated money to countless Little Silver organizations.
Rick has volunteered for the Little Silver PTO, the Little Silver Education Foundation, the Parker Homestead Committee, the Little Silver Environmental Commission, the Little Silver Business & Professional Association and worked closely with the Little Silver Public Library, the Little Silver Traffic & Safety Committee, the Little Silver Department of Public Works, the Little Silver Board of Health, the Little Silver Police Department and the Little Silver Emergency Medical Services to make the Little Silver community a better place. He is a volunteer member of the Little Silver Fire Department, Recreation Committee, Shade Tree Commission and Garden Club. Rick also volunteers for the Little Silver Fire Police, the Salvation Army and the Monmouth County Historical Association.
